Barack Obama: The American Dream
God, I hope he wins
Anyone else see this epic speech last night?
Barack Obama bashers will say that he didn’t provide enough specifics. I always thought speeches weren’t meant to be about dwelling on the “specifics.” If people are really looking for “specifics”, they might start by looking through the “Issues” section on his website, which provide detailed outlines of his stance on every major campaign topic, including some .pdf files running dozens of pages long.
Think about it for a moment. If a campaign speech were all about dwelling on “specifics”, it would be an epic failure. Hell, the speaker might die from having to talk continuously for hours and hours.
Some idiots believe Obama’s positions lack substance altogether because he lacks “specifics.” Don’t get me wrong, I’d feel the same way if someone applied this form of criticism to a John McCain speech, but for some odd reason Obama seems to be the more popular target for this kind of attack.
I never understood interventions. What’s the point of being told you drink too much from a room full of reasons why you drink in the first place?
