Can the Chargers take down Satan’s Team?
All season long we have heard nothing but how good the New England Patriots are. Let’s not kid ourselves people. The Pats are good. Very very good. But they are also playing in a league filled with sorry excuses for NFL franchises. Not to mention the fact that they have been filming other teams to the extreme for years, getting questionable calls in their favor (Ravens game), and playing injured teams that could take them down if they were at full strength.
Speaking of teams that are injured…
A healthy San Diego Chargers squad would give the Patriots a run for their money. The point spread is 14 points, which is a joke if you ask me. The Bolts are out for blood after what happened last year in the playoffs. The game will be close. I’m picking the Patriots to win because of the Chargers injures but the game is going to be ugly, brutal, and competitive. It’s a shame that we can’t see what San Diego could do at full strength. Granted they got served earlier in the season by New England, but this is a different team now. Ever since San Diego got bent over by the Jaguars, they have been playing with a purpose. But unfortunately the Chargers have an up hill battle against them.
And here is something to think about…
The Patriots aka Satan’s team are playing at such a high level that free agents will come to them for a discount. This never would have happened if the cheating (see Spygate) was caught in its infancy. And how did Roger Goodell choose to punish Satan’s team for this? He chose to go easy on them by not taking away both of their first round picks for next season. Which means New England will have the 7th pick in the 2008 draft. Yes people, the evil dynasty has only just begun.
Who will step up and slay the foul beast?

Maybe next year OSU…no probably not
I was watching the abortion known as the BCS Championship last night. I laughed when Ohio State was up 10-0. I was hoping the Buckeyes would continue to rack up unanswered points because I KNEW THEY WERE NOT GOING TO WIN THE GAME!!!!
The poor state of Ohio…
- Last year OSU lost in the championship game in football and basketball to Florida.
- Last season the Cavaliers got pimp slapped by the Spurs in the NBA finals.
- The Indians go up 3-1 in the ALCS and then choke.
- The Browns win 10 games but still fail to make it to the playoffs
And now Ohio State once again gets sodomized in the BCS Championship game. A game they had no business in playing in the first place. Thank you LSU for proving once again that Ohio is the Loser State.
The SEC owns the Big 10. I laughed at Buckeye fans telling me OSU had the best defense in the nation. Oh really? Let us examine the first 5 teams Ohio State played…
- Youngstown State
- Akron
- Washington
- Northwestern
- Minnesota
Gee, I wonder why OSU had such a highly ranked defense. The best team Ohio State played in the regular season was Illinois. And guess what? They lost that game! OSU beat a flawed system to get into the championship game. There’s something inherently wrong when a team who plays a soft schedule and then loses in November, scores its biggest victory without even playing. And because of this, I’m not truly convinced that LSU is the best team in the country. Since there is no playoff, I would have liked to see USC vs. Georgia in the Rose Bowl. The Trojans and the Bulldogs are the best two teams in the nation. If that game had taken place, there would have been less doubt about who is the best.
And people wonder why I can’t fully embrace College Football.

2008 Draft Update: The NFL ends the confusion
It didn’t take long for people to start posting draft orders (I’m guilty) after the NFL regular season ended on Sunday. Because of the three-way tie (4-12) between Oakland, Atlanta, and Kansas City, people began banging their heads to figure out who would get the 3rd pick overall. Figuring out all these damn draft rules is no simple task. Chinese algebra would be easier.
Well, the NFL has come out today to end all doubt.
From NFL.com
Atlanta, Kansas City, and Oakland had the same strength-of-schedule in the 2007 season. Since Kansas City finished third in the AFC West Division and the Raiders fourth (the tie was broken on the basis of record in common games), the Raiders will draft ahead of the Chiefs.
Atlanta and Oakland will flip a coin for the third position at the NFL Combine in February. If Atlanta wins, the Falcons will draft third, the Raiders fourth, and the Chiefs fifth. If the Raiders win the coin flip, they will draft third, and the Falcons and Chiefs will flip a coin to determine the fourth and fifth positions.
I wouldn’t have given a rat’s ass if the Chiefs jumped ahead of the Raiders. I want Darren McFadden. Kansas City already has Larry Johnson. No worries there. But the Falcons could ruin my wish. Yes, they need a quarterback but McFadden is a player that doesn’t come around often. Also Warrick Dunn’s body isn’t getting any younger.
This coin toss in February means a great deal. I hope Black History Month will be a good time for the Silver and Black.
