The GOP = Hypocrisy
Hypocrisy…it never seems to go out of style.
During President Obama’s National Prayer Breakfast Speech, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga) walked out because “he was disturbed and offended by the president’s use of prayer and reflection time for partisan politics and class warfare.”
[Barack Obama]
“And I think to myself, if I’m willing to give something up as somebody who’s been extraordinarily blessed, and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that’s going to make economic sense,” the president said. “But for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.’”
I suppose I’d be disappointed as well if someone really believed in the same views I claimed to follow but never really gave a shit about. In reality if you are a Christian and a Republican, THEN YOU ARE NOT A TRUE CHRISTIAN!! Both philosophies are incompatible.
Christianity is about helping the needy, no matter the cost to yourself. When was the last time you saw the GOP trying to help the poor? Last time I checked, Obama as had to almost bend over backwards to extend unemployment benefits and the payroll tax cut.
Stay classy Phil Gingrey.
I never understood interventions. What’s the point of being told you drink too much from a room full of reasons why you drink in the first place?
