Final Fantasy Tactics iPhone Released
After several well-documented delays, Square Enix has finally released Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game is available on the App Store worldwide, for $15.99.
The release is a port of the 2007 PSP version of the title, meaning it features that game's improved translation and cut scene graphics. The exclusive Onion Knight and Dark Knight classes from the PSP release are also included.
iOS-exclusive improvements include touch-screen controls both for navigating menus and unit movement. Save-anywhere functionality has also been included, ensuring players won't lose their progress mid-battle if they receive a phone call. Square Enix has stated that future updates will introduce the ability to fast-forward of skip cut scenes and battle scenes.
War of the Lions supports iPhone 3GS or newer devices only. A native iPad release is due out Fall 2011.
