Nintendo recently updated their Japanese website with details of the DS's download service, which began testing today at select stores in Japan. Gamers can now bring their DSes to kiosks in stores and download some new songs for Daigasso! Band Brothers (Jam with the Band in the US), Nintendo's DS music game. Also, demos of Meteos and Chokkan Hitofude are either available or will be available soon (there are varying reports).
The songs for Band Brothers will remain on a DS unit for good once being downloaded, while demos will be erased once the unit is turned off. Nintendo plans on releasing more downloadable content like this during the duration of the public testing, which runs until March 21.
There's no word of when the final service will launch yet, but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
Here are the Band Brothers songs that will be available for download:
-Toko toko Yoshi (Catch! Touch! Yoshi!)
-DK: Jungle Beat
-Slider (Super Mario 64 DS)
-Ashley (WarioWare: Touched!)
-Parthena no Kagami: A Set
-Parthena no Kagami: B Set
