Phantasy Star Universe, Sega's latest large project, is confirmed for release for both North America and Europe. Phantasy Star Universe is currently slated for a February of 2006 release, being simultaneously developed for Windows PC and PlayStation 2.
Phantasy Star Universe marks the first game where one supposed game comes with two entirely different online and offline scenarios within the package. The offline mode features a single player exploration offering over 40 hours of story and character interaction - something long time fans of the Phantasy Star series have been clamoring for for ages. The online mode allows players to create characters from scratch much like in Phantasy Star Online, except this time the online portion takes on an MMORPG scale with hundred of players playing in the same world at once with multiple bosses and scenarios to fight and complete.
Details on the offline mode's plot are basically non-existant at this point, but GAF will bring you any new tidbit of information on this promising game as soon as they're released.
