Recently, leaks of an Xbox 360 game console has been circulating on the Gamespot forums of a kid who had an Xbox 360 (they have since been deleted and reposted as a news story on the aforementioned site). The pictures that said 16-year-old individual took were in a barren basement of him playing the Xbox 360. He goes on to state that his father works at Microsoft and is supposed to be in charge of making sure the power source "won't explode." He also gives statements about the hardware and preinstalled features of the Xbox 360, such as the dashboard and other features of the console. The Xbox 360 is also apparently able to stream music to a PC, and the external power source is said to be 'not compact.' He also demonstrates the unit's backwards compatibility with a copy of Halo 2. The hardware is reportedly complete or nearing completion.
While we at Gamesarefun do not think it a happy occasion that an employee has likely lost his job due to his stepson desiring attention on a message board, this is, nonetheless, an interesting development. This eliminates much of what was unknown about the Xbox 360 previously, and if this leak is indeed authentic, the Xbox 360 may be on track for a holiday release after all.
Devious marketing ploy, or stepson getting his stepfather fired? You be the judge.
