  • Layzie Bone Talks New Album, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

While all of the prolific Bone Thugs-N-Harmony members have gone on to release solo albums, Layzie Bone belies his namesake in being the most productive and visible member of the Cleveland collective. The 20-year rap veteran has released two solo albums in the first quarter of this year alone.

MTV News caught up with the Bone Thug and crew in Los Angeles as he talked up the star-studded features on his new albums and sharing that he and his crew are still recording together as a team, reuniting with the formerly feuding Bizzy Bone who left the group but rejoined some time ago.

“I got two new records in stores, The Definition and The Meaning,” said Layzie. “I got a lot of guest features on there that’s all my dogs. Chamillionare, we also got Paul Wall. We also got Too Short Dog in the house. We got Flesh-N-Bone, we got Krayzie Bone, we got Bizzy Bone. It’s the whole Mo Thugs family, man.”

Layzie made sure to reinforce that the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony crew is indeed intact, offering several repeat shout outs to his hometown friends. “I definitely gotta shout out [The] Life Entertainment. Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, they in South Africa right now,” said Layzie. The Bone Thug soldier also grabbed the son of west coast rap pioneer the late Eric “Eazy-E” Wright to mug for the camera, offering a salute to the legacy of Lil Eazy E’s father. “We doing it all for the love of Eazy E,” said the gracious rapper.
