  • Death Row Records Resurrects Shelved O.F.T.B. Album For Summer Release

    [YT]srrAo8x22RY[/YT]

O.F.T.B. was a group signed to Death Row Records during the label's heyday, but the current label's owners have resurrected the group's past recordings, and will be dropped Damn Near Dead this summer.

Reps for the new Death Row says the album is "as raw as it is real! It's who they are and they make no excuses for it."

Damn Near Dead was originally produced, by Death Row in 1995/96, but was never released. Now over 15 years later, the vaults have been opened ... and O.F.T.B.'s music is coming.

"EVEN DOING TIME IN THE VAULT COULD NOT SOFTEN THESE TRACKS," says Death Row.

The trio -- consisting of members Flipside, Low M.B., and producer Bus Stop -- grew up in the Nickerson Gardens projects in Watts, Calif., witnessing first-hand the harsh realities of life. Coming up from the bottom, they were signed early on in their career to Big Beat Records, where they released their sole album entitled Straight Up Watts in 1992, boasting the single "Slangin' Dope."

They eventually signed to Death Row Records in the 1990s, where they made several appearances on key projects for the label, such as the double-platinum soundtracks to films like "Above The Rim", "Murder Was The Case", and "Gang Related", as well as the gold-selling "Gridlock'd" soundtrack.

The long-forgotten Damn Near Dead project boasts 13 tracks, including a bonus track, and features with Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and MC Hammer.

It is set to drop July 12. For more info, visit DeathRowMusic.com.

The final tracklist is as follows:

1 - "Thinkin' About That Murder"
    2 - "Hot One"
    3 - "Damn Near Dead"
    4 - "Gun a N**** Down"
    5 - "N****s Going Down"
6 - "That Was Then This Is Now" ft. Snoop Dogg & Kurupt
    7 - "Crack Em' Remix"
8 - "Who Got The Hits"
    9 - "What Should I Do"
    10 - "Girl Ain't Got No Time"
    11 - "Penitentiary Bound"
    12 - "Check Ya Hood"
13 - "So Long" ft. MC Hammer
