West Coast rapper Ice Cube has teamed with charity RareInk to introduce a limited edition run of artwork featuring his classic albums, to benefit an HIV/AIDS charity.
Ice Cube, who has also been announced as RareInk's strategic advisor, said that the new partnership will benefit fans, as well as victims of the incurable disease.
“Expanding the interaction with fans of my music by offering limited edition, signed artwork that they are able to share and enjoy with their friends and family is something I feel my fans deserve,” said Ice Cube. “With RareInk, music fans now have an online destination for unique, autographed art that they know is real. Not only does RareInk create amazing pieces of art that bring my albums and songs to life but a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Minority AIDS Project, an organization I have worked with over the past two decades.”
Artists like MiQ Willmott (TWEEQIM), Kerry Laster (Phantom Kay), Mark Sgarbossa, Grzegorz Demoradzki (Gabz), Leon Bedore (Tes One) and renowned photographer Patrick Hoelck have pieces in the collection.
Featured works in the series reinterpret Ice Cube albums like Amerikkka's Most Wanted, The Predator and a mural based on his video "It Was A Good Day."
Each piece is also autographed by Ice Cube himself.
There are a total of nine pieces available in the limited edition run and only 75 to 250 pieces will be sold exclusively on RareInk.com.
“In the music business we take a hit song, sample part of it, and try to make another hit record with it." Ice Cube added. "In the same way, RareInk has taken my albums and turned them into amazing works of stand-alone art. The series is something I’m really proud of and I’m sure other recording artists are going to want to get involved, both for their fans and their charities."
