Hip-Hop music executive Gee Roberson has been named Chairman of Universal Music Group's Geffen Records.
Gee Roberson is best known for his company HipHopSince1978, which was founded with Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua and executive Al Branch.
Gee, along with the other exec's at HipHopSince1978, served as the directors of A&R for Roc-A-Fella Records, for over 7 1/2 years.
The mogul played a part in signing, discovering and marketing artists like Just Blaze, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Drake, Nicki Minaj and numerous others.
Gee also served as the president of the rap division at Atlantic records, where he most recently executive produced T.I.'s platinum certified album Paper Trail.
Roberson's job is chairman at Geffen is to rebuild the label's roster in addition to hiring new A&R reps and marketing personnel.
