  • Police Say Reluctant Witnesses Hamper M-Bone Murder Investigation

Police in Inglewood, California are still seeking suspects in the shooting death of Cali Swag District rapper M-Bone, six weeks after his murder.

The rapper, born Montae Talbert, was gunned down at the height of his success, in front of a liquor store in Inglewood, on May 15th.

According to police, witnesses have been reluctant to come forward and share information regarding the shooting that night.

"When witnesses don't want to come out and talk, that's a challenge," Lieutenant Oscar Serrano of the Inglewood Police Department told Time Magazine. "It's proven to be a challenge in these types of shootings, and it's a challenge right now."

During the BET Awards last weekend, Cali Swag District paid tribute to M-Bone, who choreographed the group's dance moves.

Cali Swag District's hit single “Teach Me How to Dougie” and the accompanying dance became a pop phenomenon in 2010 and 2011.

Despite M-Bone's phenomenal success with “Teach Me How to Dougie,” his high-profile murder remains unsolved, despite a "substantial" reward being offered by the Inglewood City Council.

According to Lieutenant Serrano, the investigation into M–Bone's murder is remains open.
