A number of unreleased recordings by rapper Master P will be featured on the soundtrack to the motion picture “Get Money.”
The movie, which also stars Gucci Mane, centers around to street hustlers who dream of making it big in the music business.
The songs, which were taken from an album titled MP Lost Tapes, were used for Master P's character, a hard-core gangsta rapper named “Monstahh.”
According to Master P, director Sal Martino needed music for the film, so the rap mogul reached into the No Limit Records archive and produced 24 unreleased tracks, 12 of which are used in the film.
Master P's producer Chip aka Roi Anthony updated some of the songs, resulting in the soundtrack's first single “Meagan Good.”
“I got Chip to add some some of the tracks sounds to the beat and I’ve been talking to Meagan Good on the phone and decided to give the song a character and named it ‘Meagan Good’ since she is one of the finest actresses in the game right now," Master P. told AllHipHop.com. "She’s classy, hood, sexy, independent and beautiful. I think every woman can relate and every guy wants to be with.”
In addition to Master P, the soundtrack to “Get Money” features guest appearances by Snoop Dogg, Waka Flocka Flames, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Eastwood, Silkk the Shocker, and others.
The soundtrack could usher in Master P's return to the rap game since he announced his retirement in 2006.
“It felt good being in Thee Bat Cave Studio with some of the world’s talented music producers like Chip aka Roi Anthony, Riley, Drumma Boy and XL Productions," Master P. said. "And now that Gucci Mane is [on his way] home, we bout to go hard. I felt like I got my second wind working with hot new artists like Bengie B, Miss Chee, T-Bo, Black Don, Romeo and Valentino.”
The soundtrack to “Get Money” is due in 2012. For more information go to www.NoLimitForeverRecords.com.
