Ludacris has signed on to star in "American Radio," a flick about an urban radio team.
While the rapper got his start in radio at Atlanta's , fans should not confuse it with his real life story.
"The movie is about an Urban radio team, but it is not based on my life," Ludacris told AllHipHop.com. "We are still waiting for the scripts to be finalized for the movie."
The plot of the film, which is directed by Gary Hardwick ("Deliver Us from Eva") centers around a "Hip-Hop Intellectual" and a DJ named Kwame (Ludacris), who hosts a popular L.A. morning radio show.
The movie takes a twist when they meet some rivals and end up in a police station just hours before celebrating Kwame's birthday party.
The film will start shooting in Los Angeles in May.
