Freeway explains how he enjoys being an independent artist.
Freeway recently stopped by Bootleg Kev's radio show to discuss everything from his independent hustle to performing overseas. During the interview, he spoke on his upcoming project Freedom of Speech, explaining that it's going to consist of a dozen tracks and what fans can expect from the mixtape.
"It’s going to be 12 joints, all original joints," he said. "I just started cooking it up for the past two weeks but it’s going to be fire. We just dropped the first video, ‘Master of Ceremony,’ it’s getting a lot of love on the net and radio and everything. It’s real good because we got Karmaloop Music and Rocksmith."
Free also revealed that his upcoming album Diamond in the Ruff, which is currently without a label home for release, will feature production from Just Blaze. He explained holding onto tracks for future projects, stating that he's got joints laid down for the LP but that he releases most material that he records.
"We don’t hold onto nothing, we let everything go. I came into this project with that idea. I got joints that I’m holding for the album, for Diamond in the Ruff, that’s unbelievable," he said. "We don’t know what we’re going to do with that right now. It’s going to be big. I’m feeling this whole independent thing, just doing everything for the hustle."
