  • The New York Senate Pays Tribute To Adam "MCA" Yauch

New York State Senator Daniel Squadron writes a resolution in honor of Adam "MCA" Yauch.

Following the death of Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys much of the Hip Hop world paid their respects to the late rapper and now it seems that the New York Senate has called for a resolution paying tribute to Yauch.

The resolution was written by State Senator Daniel Squadron of Brooklyn Heights and mentions the New York native’s numerous accolades including his involvement in the Milarepa Fund and Oscilloscope Laboratories.

"The Beastie Boys became well-known in the innovative music scene in Manhattan's East Village and Lower East Side with a sound and a style all their own ... [they] exemplified New York through a period in which grassroots creativity and a community of iconoclastic artists helped redefine and rejuvenate a city on the ropes, with iconic imagery from Brooklyn to Ludlow Street," the resolution stated, according to MTV News.

Yauch passed away on May 4th of this year after a lengthy battle with cancer.
