Beyonce joins a cast that includes Pitbull, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari and more.
Beyonce has joined the cast of the upcoming 3D CG-animated film Epic, which is being helmed by the makers of Ice Age and Rio.
Deadline.com reports that Bey will voice the character Queen Tara and joins a cast that already includes Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Aziz Ansari, Johnny Knoxville, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis and Steven Tyler.
Ice Age director Chris Wedge will direct the pic, which will be produced by Lori Forte and Jerry Davis. It focuses on “a battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil. When a teenaged girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters to save that world, which in turn saves the real world.”
Epic is slated for release on May 24, 2013.
