Two of Def Jam Records' biggest acts fought tonight at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, according to HOT 97's Funkmaster Flex. Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, along with their respective Maybach Music and CTE entourages first exchanged words, before things got physical, according to eye-witness Flex. "Pushing and shoving" is what the veteran deejay reported via Twitter, before the fight escalated.
The backstage tussle moved to the parking lot of the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center. The exit included Ross and Jeezy, according to a report on Complex.com. There, gunshots were heard, and eye-witnesses reported a police arrest. During the fight, Bad Boy Records artist Machine Gun Kelly reportedly was maced.
During this fight, the awards taping was suspended and the venue was reportedly held on lockdown. The lockdown suspended soon after, according to accounts, where Ross took the stage.
