  • Moby Supports Eminem & "Mosh"

Politics has a strange way of making bedfellows. Moby, a longtime Eminem nemesis, has recently announced his support for Slim Shady and the rapper’s anti-Bush single and video for “Mosh.”

“You know that Eminem and I have had our differences in the past,” Moby wrote on his online Web log last week. “But this video is the best that I’ve seen all year.

“It’s an amazing song,” the Techno DJ added. “And an even more amazing video. Please go watch.”

Eminem, speaking to Angie Martinez on Hot 97 last week, attempted to downplay his political inclination, stating the song is just a natural extension of his personality and the hip-hop political movement. The Shady CEO, however, didn’t hide his disdain for President Bush and his administration.

“A lot of people have different sides and I think they’re scared to express those sides,” he explained. “Just recently, just seeing what’s going on right now [in Iraq] and it being election time and seeing what’s going on in the world and rappers getting involved, I just feel like…. And I’ll leave it at this, I don’t like what Bush is doing right now to our country and if he’s elected for another 4 years he’s gonna run our country into the ground.”

The controversial superstar was quick to note his words don’t reflect any anti-American sentiment. Rather, Em said: “I love this country, but can this man [Bush] run the country into the ground? Yes.”

Eminem went on to add that the rumored re-institution of the military draft has had an impact on his thinking. His younger brother, Nathan, recently turned 18 and Em said “it’s nerve racking,” to think about his joining the Army.

The rapper noted his upcoming album would feature him speaking on politics as well as his personal experiences during the past year and a half. The feud with Benzino and the Source magazine will also be addressed again. In particular, Eminem cited “Yellow Brick Road,” as a track that would answer his many critics.

“It doesn’t make sense to me. It doesn’t,” he said. “I went through a lot of things this past year and you can hear it on the album.”

Encore is due in stores November 16th.

Man, fuck that "Mosh" video. It wasn't all that. I mean I don't support Bush or Kerry. But can you honestly blame Bush for the 9/11 stuff. I mean a while ago I would blame Bush but you gotta think. You can't know what other people are thinking of. An in the beginning of that video, the Airliner flies past the school house and you hear it crash. I see that as being disrespectful to the people on those planes that died. But honestly you can't blame anyone for that 9/11 shit. But then again the video is right on everything else, like the reassignment to Iraq and all the other controversies. So I just had to give off what I thought was wrong with that 9/11 shit.

I don't support any politicians, unless it is King David, or one of his ancestors, to which Bush and Kerry definitely are not, but hell, if one of those planes would have crashed in my back yard, and Bush did not go after them bastards then you would have had a bunch of Texans strappin' up for a war, and us Texans do not play!

The plane crashing in the video is only showing how messed up America is because of Bush. One of the messages in the video is that America is f*cked up and we need to fix what's going on here first.

I love the song and the video. Its the message that it gives that I love. A lot of people believe that Bush was slacking off and that's why 9/11 happend....I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.

Yes all politicians are liars, but Kerry is the lesser of two evils.

The war in Iraq is bullshit, we should not be there. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. But it was a way to get oil and for halibertin to make money. And as a result people are dying....soliders are doing....FOR NOTHING!!!

I guess I feel where ya coming from on that one. But how would you know something like this was gonna happen. The first attack like that was all the way back at Pearl Harbor. I just feel 9/11 could of happened on anyone's terms. But all the other stuff that Eminem focused on was truthly speaking. I just didn't feel it was right to watch a plane go by and hearing a big crash off screen. But I guess I see what ya mean now.

man.....ryan, i respect your thoughts bro, but i have to disagree

im a big, HUGE, shady fan and i happen to not like the picture he paints. i do not trust john kerry with his flip flop antics at all, all that shows is that he tells you what you wanna hear, and that is not what america needs. and i totally am not for that gay rights shit. thats a big thing for me, considering im a religious person, but eminem and even jada dont know what its like to be in a draft and they should think about their children rather than their own self absorbed thought. do you know how many people they influence cause of what they do, think of how many followers there are in this world, and how many people the influence with those type of songs. they dont give people that "Follow" much of a full sided picture, mainly just there opinion. Now to look at the song as an aspect of a song its a good song with a point, but like bish said he aint responsible for those deaths, and its a mocking of 9-11 thats serious shit not something to re-animate. i think its a little outta line for shady, he probaly just watched farenhiet 9-11 one to many times.

tell me if you feel me at all ryan? this is a big topic for me and i enjoy discussing it.

would you rather have some soldiers dying in iraq fighting for us now, or would you rather wait till they hit us again at home? thats how i see it. them fuckin terrorists need to be stopped, they still even kidnappin cats and killen em. im not into waiting for them to fly another plane into a building again. i'll take the exception of a few instead of a mass number

this is strickly how i feel, my opinion.

i'll take my chances with bush, since 9-11 shit aint happened. i kinda wish kerry would get elected so yall could see that he infact is the greater of two evils, he is not the man nor person for a time like this...

habit would probaly agree with me that we are living in the times close to or near the end....its all in the bible my peeps.

but basically it all boils down to my opinion and how i was raised, no disrespect to none....lemme know how yall feel

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, this was proven. Bush lied about why we were going to Iraq. And now people are dying for nothing. Bush is a mad man. Talking about how he had to invade Iraq because God told him to, LOL yeah right.
