"New York City's own Bad Guy" 50 Cent and the Inc's Irv Gotti have got into another war of words this week on the air, as part of two separate shows on the famed Hot 97 radio station in New York.
The first to throw some punches was 50 Cent, who called radio personality Miss Info live on the Morning Show to describe a situation that took place between himself and Irv Gotti during a Jacob the Jeweler event. 50 told Miss Info that he and Chris Lighty walked right by Gotti in Jacob's store located in New York City's Jeweler District. He said that as he walked by he could see Gotti toughen up his face, but he didn't care. He went on to tell Miss Info that what's sad about it is Ashanti ran out of the store after seeing him.
50 said, "[Ashanti] shouldn't have to go through that. After all she's an R&B singer." Nevertheless, 50 went on to say how Gott wasn't allowed in the exact same viewing room as he was. He also went onto to say that he thinks it's getting worse for the entire Inc. He said the charges they are facing are really messing them up. Also, once again he reinforced his sentiments about Ja Rule, essentially stating that just because he has two records ("New York" and "Wonderful") that fit the radio format, doesn't mean his career is revived because 50 believes nobody is buying Ja's album. 50 went on to say, "Check Soundscan. The numbers don't lie."
Before 50 ended the call, he told fans to be prepared for a collaborated set of watches coming out between him and Jacob an he also warned hip-hop about how serious his upcoming, Valentine's Day Massacre LP is going to be. He said he's debating whether or not to drop a track that speaks about many artists in the game right now. It's rumored that two of the artists that will be addressed are Fat Joe and Jadakiss for doing "New York" with Ja Rule.
Later that same day Irv Gotti made his way down to Hot 97 studios to speak to Angie Martinez in person. Gotti basically told listeners that he doesn't understand why 50 even bothered to call in because nothing happened at all. Gotti said that he and 50 were in the same store and looked at each other and walked by, without exchanging words. Gotti also said that the only person to say anything was Chris Lighty, who was saying something that he couldn't make out. Basically, Gotti said Lighty was muttering something under his breath and to that Gotti just told him, "Peace" as he walked out the door. In addition, Gotti said that Ashanti never ran out the store and was there the whole time. Most interestingly, he revealed that there was a meeting between himself, Lighty and Russell Simmons to squash beef and move on, but that was ruined by Lighty, who was cursing without listening to him or Simmons.
