  • Neptunes Producer Pharrell Sues Reebok

Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams and his clothing company BBC are reportedly suing Reebok for $4 million in damages, alleging that the sports apparel giant violated a contract between the two parties.

Pharrell's clothing and footwear brand BBC (Billionaire Boys Club) filed a complaint in New York court Dec. 17, 2004, claiming that Reebok did not produce garments up to BBC's standards.

According to the complaint, Reebok personnel told BBC that Reebok could not produce the entire line of goods to meet BBC's approval "in a manner consistent with the design and quality standards and specifications required by BBC."

The grievance also stated that Reebok failed to ship clothing by the June 1, 2004 deadline.

"Reebok repeatedly assured BBC that the non-conforming and disapproved aspects of these samples would be corrected," the complaint stated. "Reebok, however, failed to correct these deficiencies."

Pharrell launched his collection of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream footwear in September 2004 as part of a long-term licensing agreement between him and Reebok.

BBC is reportedly seeking a minimum of $1.6 million in damages on three counts of breach of contract.

A Reebok representative said the company declines comment during legal affairs.
