NaS album coming out this Summer
Nas has been quietly touring Europe the last month or so promoting his latest album, Street's Disciple. The set has been his most successful release in Europe although fans stateside appear to have not responded well to it. With the rapper returning to the US after wrapping up his tour Sony is planning to release 2 new videos from 'Disciple'. First up will be a video for a track Nas says is one of his personal favourites, U.B.R.-The Unauthorized Biography Of Rakim. Directed by Benny Boom the video has been described as 'very old school'.
On his return, Nas will shoot a video for 'Virgo', his collaboration with Ludacris and Doug E. Fresh,which also appears on Ludacris' Red Light District. No details are available as of yet.
According to Nikki Martin, A&R at Sony Urban Music, Nas will also be releasing a new album sometime this summer. It will, however be another instalment in the Lost Tapes series from Nas. There are plans to shoot a video for the compilation this time around. Nas has also communicated to the label that he 'has an itch to go back to the studio' and Martin says some new material may be included.
