  • Tupac's Mom "Grants" Gangbanger's Wish, Last Album Hits Next Year

Afeni Shakur and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation have awarded a grant to help former Winnipeg, Canada gang member, James Lathlin publish his Better Dayz book.

Named after Pac's 2002 posthumous LP, the book was inspired by Shakur's rhymes and is based on Lathlin's upbringing as a gang member on the streets of Winnipeg. He began penning the book during a six month jail sentence for stealing cars. Lathlin, 28, now volunteers to speak at schools to warn kids about the pitfalls of crime, including stealing cars.

In related Shakur news, Afeni is presently renovating the Foundation's Peace Memorial Garden and Visitors Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia. After 9 years of posthumous releases, Shakur revealed that Pac's last album will hit stores next year.
