Kirk Burrowes, former President of Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and is expected to serve 10 to 16 months in prison.
The 42 year-old Burrowes admitted to removing evidence from his home in Harlem just hours before feds raided the joint as part of a drug-money laundering investigation. Burrowes knew about the search because he spoke to authorities earlier that day.
Burrowes helped Combs launch Bad Boy Entertainment in 1992 and became the label's President and General Manager. He managed R&B diva Mary J. Blige and was the godfather to one of Combs' sons.
Things eventually turned sour between the Diddy and Kirk. In 1996, Burrowes claims Combs threatened him with a baseball bat and forced him to sign over his stake in the company. He was fired one year later, but was promised he would still be allowed to share in the company's profits. In 2002 however, Burrowes claims Combs told him he would no longer receive any money. This prompted him to file a $25 million lawsuit in 2003 against the hip-hop mogul. Additionally, he also implicated Combs in the murder of Tupac Shakur. The suit was eventually tossed out.
The legal battles never end for "P. Diddy" though. On May 18th, A female worker filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' clothing company. Chanel Gaither of Sean John Inc. claims her supervisor, Sloan Macedo, embarrassed her with sexually graphic comments a month after she joined the company full-time.
"You're a freak. Everybody thinks that you are quiet and innocent, but you probably have a leather mask and whip," Macedo allegedly told Gaither, according to her civil-rights suit filed in Manhattan Federal Court. Also in the suit, Gaither charges that Macedo asked whether she was, "going to have a quicky today" and added, "Chanel is going to a hotel to get some."
A spokesman for P. Diddy discredited the case. "No allegations were made against Mr. Combs. This is a merit-less case by an employee who was at the company less than two months and where the EEOC [Equal Employment Opportunity Commission] declined to pursue her case," the spokesman said.
