  • The Fugees To Drop New Single In 3 Weeks

After months of buzz about a possible new project and a few reunion performances to whet the appetites of fans, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel are reportedly planning to drop a new single in three weeks.

The single, "Take It Easy," will be the long awaited follow up to their multi-platinum album, The Score. The song will reportedly be reminiscent of early works on their slept-on debut album, Blunted on Reality.

The group has not recorded together since The Score, with Lauryn becoming reclusive and a very public falling out between Pras and Wyclef. The trio stunned a thirsty fan base in recent months with appearances at Dave Chappelle's Block Party event and The BET Awards where they gave a full set of their hits including "Killing Me Softly."

The band members have managed to stay busy on solo projects over the nine year hiatus. Clef has been honing his acting skills appearing in four episodes of Law & Order and received a 2005 Golden Globe nomination for "One Million Voices" from the Hotel Rwanda soundtrack. Pras recently released his reggae-infused sophomore disc, "Win Lose or Draw" and starred alongside Darrell Hannah in a short film entitled, Careful What You Ask For. And Lauryn broke her media silence in the Girls Rule! Issue of Trace Magazine and has teamed up with John Legend to contribute her vocals to a remix of his next single 'So High.'

There is no official word from their label, Columbia Records, of when a full album will hit shelves.

I've been waiting for the Fugees to come back for a long time. This single should be pretty hot.
