  • Who Shot Suge Knight? Frustrated Police & Rap Fans Speculate on the Usual Suspects

Only one day after Marion"Suge" Knight was shot in Miami's Shore Club, the rap world is analyzing the mogul's long list of enemies and speculating on who could have shot him.

Knight was shot in the leg during a Kanye West party at SouthBeach's Shore Club early Sunday morning. Yesterday, Knight recovered in intensive care at Miami Beach's Mount Sinai Medical Center after undergoing surgery on a broken leg bone.

According to Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez, police have no suspects. Hernandez also denied that a police report described a suspect as a "Black man wearing a pink shirt."

Suge was in attendance at the star-studded bash which included celebrities such as Nick Cannon, actress Jessica Alba and The Game who reportedly got into an altercation with Knight in June. Partygoers were dancing to the pu$$y Cat Dolls' "Don't Cha" when an unidentified gunman reportedly walked up to Knight at about 12:30 a.m. and fired at least two shots witnesses told the Miami Herald. Knight was reportedly found on a couch of the VIP section with a towel over his face and blood leaking on the floor.

All of a sudden... people just started running toward the doors... it was insane," one anonymous source told SOHH.com. "The place was in chaos... people were running every direction... one woman was on the floor and people were trampling her... I thought we were all going to die."

Since the incident, speculation has mounted over who shot Suge and why. Suge has a storied past and has had run-ins with various foes over the years, making it difficult for authorities to speculate on motive and opportunity. Suge list of enemies read like an award show VIP list, including Snoop Dogg, The Game who he reportedly got into an altercation with in LA back in June, P. Diddy , Dr. Dre, Daz Dillinger, Eminem who he recently took shots at in the new XXL Magazine and even JLo who sued him over an alleged sex tape.

There's even speculation that Knight might have accidentally shot himself with his own gun.

"I've never seen him carry a gun in the five years I've known him," an unnamed friend of Suge's tells SOHH.com. However, the source added that Knight surrounds himself with a lot of people and that "anything could have happened."

Like the perfect mystery setup, many of Suge's foes including The Game, Diddy and Snoop Dogg were in Miami on Sunday night with their entourages - providing opportunity and access to the Death Row mogul.

Hours before Suge was shot, the aforementioned Game and his crew were forced to leave Miami's American Airlines Arena when two of Game's bodyguards attempted to access rehearsal with guns.

"Two of the bodyguards were armed, and had concealed weapons permits," Miami police spokesman Delrish Moss told the Herald. "The officers explained what the rules were, that they could not come in armed so they left and came back without their weapons."

Game and Knight have been feuding since the Compton emcee joined Dr. Dre's Aftermath roster. Knight routinely takes shots at Dre in interviews. In XXL Magazine's September issue's cover story, Knight mockingly states that "it must have been hard for Dre to be punched in front of his wife at last year's Vibe Awards." Knight also called Eminem, who didn't attend the VMAs, a racist in the XXL cover story. Knight and Dre started beefing when the super producer left Death Row to launch his own label in the mid 90s. They have not been on good terms since.

The VMA's host, Diddy, has also been feuding with Knight for well over a decade. The beef began at the 1995 Source Awards, when Suge told the New York crowd that they should come to Death Row if they don't want Bad Boy CEO Puff Daddy dancing in their videos. While Puff never retaliated, Knight has never stopped taking cheap shots at Diddy, more recently poking fun at the mogul for being dumped by Jennifer Lopez "for a dancer." Soon enough, Diddy's Bad Boy Entertainment and Suge's Death Row were at the center of the deadly East Coast/West Coast beef. The feud eventually claimed the lives of Tupac Shakur, who was gunned down in Las Vegas in September 1996 and The Notorious B.I.G., who was killed six months later in Los Angeles. Biggie's family has since accused Knight of orchestrating the Brooklyn rapper's murder with the help of dirty cop David A. Mack.

Snoop Dogg, who also had been feuding with Suge for nearly a decade, was also present in Miami. However, the two recently called a truce at a West Coast unity convention earlier this year. The two began feuding in the late 90s when Snoop opted to leave Knight's Death Row following his sophomore release, The Dogfather. They then began trading disses in various interviews. Snoop also dissed Suge in "Pimp'd Slapp'd" off 2002's Paid The Cost To Be Da Bo$$.

Though he wouldn't likely put a price on Suge's head, Mos Def recently joined Knight's long list of enemies. During a recent performance at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, Mos called out Suge and demanded that he reveal who shot Tupac and Biggie.

Outrageous speculation aside, police continue to be stifled by uncooperative witnesses who refuse to tell what they saw. The Miami police are asking any person who has information to call their anonymous tipline at 305-471-TIPS (8477).

There are so many people that want Suge dead. There is no way the police will ever find out who did it. And I doubt they really care.

Violence never solves anything. If someone gets murdered then someone else has to die, and so on. It never stops.
