Miami Beach police appear to have reached a dead end in their investigation of the August 28th shooting that wounded rap mogul Suge Knight.
According to a New York Daily News, police say witnesses either scattered or were uncooperative, but they have ruled out the possibility that the 40 year old Knight accidentally shot himself.
Suge was shot in the right leg during a bash thrown by rapper/producer Kanye West the night before the MTV Video Music Awards. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
"We just don't know who did it," police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said.
Police had raised the possibility that Knight might have been carrying a weapon that accidentally went off, but Hernandez said residue tests on Knight's pants indicated he had not shot himself.
"We think that a gun may have accidentally gone off," Hernandez said.
He said police did not know who might have had a gun in the club that night.
There was some speculation the shooting could have been related to the shooting deaths of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.. Knight had been investigated in those slayings, but he was not charged.
Suge Knight's label, Death Row Records, sold some 40 million units during the '90s alone and its first six releases produced double-platinum selling albums.
On November 22, Death Row/Koch will reissue a few of the most famous albums to come out of Death Row Records. The albums will be reissued as DualDiscs and will include videos from those records.
The Death Row albums scheduled for reissue thru Death Row/Koch include The Very Best Of Death Row, Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop Doggy Dogg's Doggystyle, and 2Pac's All Eyez On Me and Makaveli - The 7 Day Theory.
