50's Shooter? The Murder Inc Trial Attorneys Load Up For War Over The Truth
Over the weekend, the federal prosecution team in the Murder Inc trial re-loaded with new ammo for their court battle, handing subpoenas to Robert "Sun" Lyons, a Murder Inc. employee who they say was the man who shot 50 Cent in 2000. Meanwhile, Irv and Chris Gotti's defense team ramp up with evidence to support their theory that 50 was shot by Darryl "Hommo" Baum, a fact they intend to prove is corroborated by 50 Cent himself.
Last week at the Murder Inc trial, Judge Edward Korman ruled in favor of the prosecution to allow testimony regarding the shooting of 50 Cent into the trial. The prosecution stressed that the evidence would be able to prove that the shooting of Gotti nemesis 50 Cent was a return favor from McGriff to the Murder Inc family for laundering his money. The prosecution argued that the shooter was Robert "Sun" Lyons who later became the head of security at Murder Inc.
SOHH.com has learned that the prosecution served a subpoena to Sun's wife over the weekend at their home. Sun will be forced to take the stand and will be questioned about how he knows Supreme, whether Supreme put a hit on 50 Cent for Murder Inc and how he came to get his high level security job at Murder Inc.
To corroborate this theory, sources tell SOHH.com the prosecution is expected to present Jon Ragin, a former partner of Supreme's Picture Perfect production company which produced the straight to DVD film "Crime Partners."
Jon Ragin was on life parole for drugs when he was charged in 1999 in a massive credit card scam along with distribution of ecstasy. Facing life imprisonment, he began cooperating and has been placed in the witness protection program.
The defense is expected to counter that 50's shooter is Hommo. They will present numerous interviews in print where 50 supported that notion himself whether directly or indirectly. Recently, in direct response to questioning on the subject based on info from the new book, "Queens Reigns Supreme" (in stores tomorrow), 50 recently implicated Hommo on HOT 97 and UPN News in NY. In both instances the book was the basis for the question and on TV 50 went so far as to say he knew it was Hommo because he saw him.
