A concert with Xzibit, Twista and E-40 which was scheduled to take place this weekend at a California high school has been postponed.
According to reports, a disagreement between the concert promoters and the Santa Maria High School district prompted the postponement of the Saturday afternoon event which was to be held at Santa Maria High School's football stadium.
The concert promoters claimed police pressured school officials to deny the promoters use of the school facility because they were against the idea of a rap concert and the potential for violence and drug use.
Police have strongly denied the allegations and the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District said the refusal of permission to use the stadium was due to late paperwork and poor organization by the promoters.
Ten percent of the proceeds from the concert were to be awarded to the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Queen candidate sponsored by the local chapter of the statewide Black Student Union.
The concert promoters have postponed the event for at least a few weeks as they search for a new venue.
In related news, Xzibit will be co-starring alongside wrestler/actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the sports drama "Gridiron Gang".
The film will revolve around The Rock's character, a probation officer who assembles a football team of juvenile inmates to play against local high school teams. Xzibit will play the team's assistant coach.
"Gridiron Gang" opens in theatres on September 15th.
