Snoop Dogg can now add author to his already impressive resume. The rapper is set to release his first novel this fall via Atria Books, a division of the publishing giant Simon & Schuster.
Entitled Love Don't Live Here No More, the book will tell the story of a young Southern Californian's day-to-day struggle and the trials he faces trying to make it in the hip-hop world.
"Snoop, by nature of what he does, is a storyteller," said Kathleen Schmidt, Atria Books vice president and director of publicity via a statement. "Books speak more to a female audience than does his music, so this will give him an opportunity to show, particularly his female fans, another side."
In related news, Snoop is currently facing a $20 million lawsuit from a fan who alleges the rapper, his body guards and friends, beat him when he stepped on stage during a concert last year.
Love Don't Live Here No More is slated to hit shelves in October and will be the followed by other street-inspired series' headed by Snoop for Atria.
