Despite the recent death of their group mate Proof, the remaining members of D12 are still focused on recoding their third album.
Proof (born Deshaun Holton) was shot and killed at Detroit's C.C.C. nightclub on April 11, after a heated dispute with 35 year old army veteran, Keith Bender.
According to D12's Kon Artis, the Detroit bred rap collective will begin recording new material after group member Swift is released from jail. Swift (born Ondre Moore), is currently serving a 93 day jails sentence for violating terms of his probation in a drunken driving case.
"If people think that because he's not here we're not going to keep doing what we're doing, then they're wrong," Kon Artis told The Detroit Free Press. "We're just taking the record to the next level. We had some songs recorded already. We got a song called "Holding Our Own" that we recorded and Proof is on that song."
Kon Artis also divulged that another album by Proof, which he wrote and recorded in 24 hours titled Time Will Tell, will be released later this year.
In related news, D12's label mate, Obie Trice, will not be releasing his sophomore album this month, as previously reported.
According to an Interscope representative, Second Rounds On Me has been pushed back until later in the summer.
The album reportedly features appearances from Eminem, Trick Trick, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg and Trey Songz. Em, Alchemist, Fredwreck, JR Rotem and 9th Wonder are some of the producers on the project. .
Trice released his debut album, Cheers, back in 2003.
