A Buffalo man was stabbed this weekend when violence erupted after hundreds were turned away from a nightclub where Jim Jones was scheduled to perform.
According to the Associated Press the disturbance broke out after midnight on Sunday (May 22nd) when much of the crowd who had lined up to see Jim Jones at Buffalo's Tralf nightclub were turned away.
"There were probably about a thousand to 1,500 people waiting to get into the club that couldn't get in," nightclub owner Rohit Kapoor told Associated Press reporters.
After numerous fights broke out and patrons attempted to break down the club's doors, which Kapoor said were locked, police were called to calm the crowd. When police arrived to break up the fights, one officer was struck on the back of her head. She was treated for swelling and a cut at a local Buffalo hospital.
The officer's alleged attacker, 36 year-old David Jones was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration. After his arrest David Jones complained of a pain in his side and officers discovered he had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital and treated for the wound, which was not life-threatening.
