  • Former Source Editor-In-Chief Thrown in Jail

Dasun Allah, former Editor-In-Chief of The Source Magazine, began serving a six-month jail sentence he received for a recent assault conviction this week.

According to New York Post, on January 8, Allah (born David Allen Blanks) randomly struck two strangers with a gravel-filled satchel. Authorities say Allah hit both men in the head, causing "substantial pain." Allah pled guilty to the charges in March.

In addition to his editorial work with The Source, Allah has also wrote for the Village Voice and appeared on the radio as part of Power 105.1's "Star and Buc Wild Morning Show."

Allah also has another case pending, stemming from charges of criminal mischief and vandalism. He is accused of defacing a Jehovah's Witness sanctuary in October of last year. He admitted to spraying graffiti on the assembly hall, blaming the religious sect for "breaking up his family." According to reports, Allah was asked to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses over 13 years ago.
