  • Violence Breaks Out In Miami Club After Rap Show

A man was stabbed to death while another suffered gun shot wounds during a hip-hop party at Miami's Club Metropolis yesterday morning (May 29).

Reports say Roger Hall, 22, of Richmond Heights, FL, was killed around 4 a.m. as a rapper was performing on stage. The rapper's identity has not been revealed.

Meanwhile, another 22-year-old, Lee Fowner, of Fontainebleau, FL, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital after being shot in the thigh. Fowner had surgery and is presently in stable condition, according to the authorities. Liamyn Gray, 26, of Coconut Grove, was also grazed by a bullet. He was taken to the hospital, treated and then released.

''There are so many different stories, I don't really know what happened,'' Gray told The Miami Herald. "Once they heard the shot, everyone took off. I tried to get up and out of the way and I saw the blood on my sock. Everyone was screaming and trying to get the hell out.''

Cops believe an argument in the back of Metropolis where a "Memorial Day College Block Party" was taking place provoked the gun shots. Police don't know how many shots were fired or who had the weapon. No firearms were found inside the venue.

One witness claims to have seen a fight before shots rang out. Authorities believe that Metropolis was over its 2,000-person capacity. Metropolis has been cited for not having a valid occupational license and a certificate of use, according to the city of Miami's website. The club owners could not be reached for comment.

According to reports, the club hired six-off duty officers to oversee parking and crowd control outside the venue. Word is metal detectors began running low on batteries, which may have allowed partygoers to enter the club with guns.

A who's who of hip-hop's finest visited Miami for Memorial Day festivities this weekend. Yung Joc, Twista, Usher, Nelly, Jadakiss, Styles P and Slim Thug all attended functions and performed at different clubs throughout the weekend.
