  • DMX Cited For Carrying Concealed Weapon In Scottsdale, Arizona

Rap star DMX's problems continue with the law, as the chart topping artist was cited for carrying a concealed handgun outside of a Scottsdale, Arizona nightclub on Friday (June 16).

According to police, DMX was stopped near Scottsdale nightclub Buzz, after they saw him take a handgun and place it underneath the front seat of the car he was driving, a 1964 Chevy convertible.

Simmons, who was not arrested, was cited for a misdemeanor charge of not having a permit to conceal the weapon in the vehicle.

"He had the top down, the cops were right in the area, and they saw him take out the gun and put it under the front seat," Scottsdale Police Detective Sam Bailey told The Arizona Republic.

The charges are the latest in a series of incidents with the law over the past month.

On June 2, the rapper was stopped in White Plains for driving erratically. In that incident, police said he cut another motorist off and was speeding in his 2001 Chevy Suburban.

DMX, born Earl Simmons, was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Just nine days later on June 16, the rapper was issued a summons for driving on the shoulder of the road, after his 2006 Chevy Suburban was struck by another vehicle as he attempted to reenter traffic, while avoiding congestion on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison, New York.

The rapper was due in court on June 16 to face the June 2 charges, but his appearance was postponed at the behest of his attorney, Murray Richman.

He will now appear in court on June 21 to face the White Plains charges.

Additionally, the rapper will appear in court in Harrison, New York on July 21 for the incident on the Hutchinson River Parkway.
