  • Lil' Kim Celebrates Release With Supporters and Soul Food

Lil Kim was released from the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center at 6 a.m. this morning (July 3) after ten months behind bars.

Kim (born Kimberley Jones) began serving a one year and a day sentence for perjury conspiracy this past September. She was convicted after being found guilty of lying to a grand jury in relation to a 2001 shooting in front of New York radio station Hot 97.

As dozens of supporters, some holding signs reading, "Welcome Home, Queen Bee" cheered her on, the petite rapper exited the prison carrying a balloon and a bouquet of white roses. Her Rolls Royce then pulled into a parking lot close by where Kim greeted the group of supporters.

"I love you," the Queen Bee reportedly said while blowing kisses. Word is fans stayed up hours before her release to make sure they caught a glimpse of the rapper. Kim will spend her first 30 days under house arrest and will be on probation for three years.

Soul food, family and friends awaited Kim as she drove to her New Jersey residence, according Tracy Nguyen, the rapper's spokeswoman. Among the treats, Diddy's restaurant Justin's supplied a red velvet cake .

"Her family and friends will be there," Nguyen told the New York Daily News. "She'll be spending time with them."

There's no word on Kim' next step regarding her music career.
