  • Foxy Brown's Assault Trial Delayed

Foxy Brown's trial for an alleged assault on two nail salon employees was delayed until next month by a Manhattan judge yesterday ( July 12).

As previously reported, Brown (Born Inga Marchand) is charged with assaulting two employees of Manhattan's Bloomie Nails in Chelsea in an August 2004 fight over payment for a manicure.

Brown was initially charged with misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and harassment. She has already turned down two misdemeanor plea deals that would have allowed her to avoid jail time.

The aforementioned trail was set to begin next week on Monday (July 17).

Brown appeared at the Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday with a new lawyer, Robert Kalim. Kalim is her third lawyer since the case begun.

Judge Melissa Jackson, who delayed the trial, also extended an order of protection for the nail salon employees against Brown. The trial will now begin on August 28th.

The Brooklyn bred rapper will also be facing another judge next month.

On Tuesday, Brown failed to appear at a Jersey City Municipal Court to face harassment charges filed by her former personal assistant, Rasheeda Ellis.

Ellis filed a complaint weeks ago claiming that Foxy threatened her via e-mails and phone calls, after she tried to collect money owed to her.

According to a Jersey City official, an arrest warrant for Brown wasn't issued because Ellis mistakenly went to Hudson County Superior Court and never found her way to the right courtroom. No reason for Foxy's absence was given.

Ellis and Brown are expected back in court on August 23.
