DMX's nanny and brother in law both appeared in court Monday (August 7) to face felony drug charges.
According to Westchester's Journal News, John Darugn, whose sister is married to DMX, and Olivia Blankendal, the nanny, were found with 8 ounces of cocaine in the car they were in riding in over the weekend.
The pair was stopped by county police on the Saw Mill River Parkway on Saturday (August 5), after Darugn began to exit at Yonkers Avenue and then, while a police car was pulled over near the exit, he drove across hazard markings.
Draughn was then arrested after failing to produce a driver's license. Upon searching the vehicle, which was registered to DMX's company, police reportedly found 3 ounces of powdered cocaine and 5 ounces of crack inside a center console.
During Monday's hearing, it was revealed that Draughn told police that he got the drugs before meeting Blankendal and she knew nothing about them.
Blankendal was released on $2,500 bail but Draughn was ordered held without bail and was due in court on Tuesday.
In related news, DMX (born Earl Simmons) is expected to appear in court on August 21st over numerous driving charges relating to an arrest in White Plains, NY.
The Yonkers bred rapper was stopped in downtown White Plains, NY on June 2nd for driving his 2001 Chevy Suburban at unreasonable speeds and making unsafe lane changes. Police said they found the rapper not wearing a seat belt and without a driver's license.
