Mississippi's own David Banner and former partner in rhyme Kamikaze (collectively known as Crooked Lettaz) will be recognized for their contributions to their state at the 1stMississippi's Best Awards in October.
The awards show, which will take place on October 28th at the TelCom Center in Jackson, Mississippi , will honor those from the state who have made strides in various fields including the arts, politics, sports and community service. Banner and Kamikaze will be awarded a " Best of the Best Award."
Banner, who dedicated thousands in relief efforts to the state after Hurricane Katrina, has long been a recognized figure in helping out the communities of his dirty south home.
Banner and Kamikaze have both done their part in the music business as well as when it comes to community involvement," says C. A. Webb, the awards ceremony Founder and Communication Director. "We wanted to acknowledge them both for the work they are doing in and out of the studio."
