Lil' Wayne has reportedly been arrested in Atlanta and charged with drug possession.
According to Atlanta's Action News, Weezy, (born Dwayne Michael Carter) was cuffed early yesterday (August 14) close to Atlantic Station in midtown Atlanta. Police officers revealed that Weezy was carrying various drugs when arrested.
Wayne's most recent troubles came via a lawsuit courtesy of his former manager, White Tides Entertainment president Melissa Philipian, this past April. Filed in Miami U.S. District Court, the suit alleges that Wayne has failed to pay Philipian over $500,000 in back commissions and states that he owes White Tides 15 percent of his earnings over the next two years according to a contract he signed in June 2005.
According to the suit, the New Orleans rapper fired Philipian because he was displeased with the quality of the hotel room she booked for him.
At press time, Universal Records, Wayne's label, could not be reached for comment on the arrest.
