  • Wyclef, Jerry Wonda, Mr. Collipark Team For New Ying Yang Twins Album

    Rapper/producer Wyclef Jean has teamed with his cousin Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis and Michael "Mr. Collipark" Crooms to produce a new album by Atlanta based rap group, The Ying Yang Twins.

    Jean, Duplessis and Mr. Collipark are co-executive producing The Ying Yang Twins' latest upcoming album, tentatively titled 2 Live Crew, an ode to the Miami rap group of the same name.

    2 Live Crew is the follow-up to Ying Yang Twins' 2005 release United States of Atlanta, which was released on Collipark Music/TVT Records.

    "Myself, Wyclef and Jerry [Duplessis], we are co-executive producing the [new Ying Yang Twins] album," Mr. Collipark told AllHipHop.com. “We’re trying to put [out] better songs than what we already do, we’re tryin to make better instrumentals. We wanna keep it true to our fan base but, but with the Wyclef/ Mr. Collipark combination – we’re gonna take it to a whole another level.”

    Mr. Collipark, previously known as DJ Smurf, is the CEO of Atlanta-based label Collipark Music.

    As a producer, Mr. Collipark has churned out hit singles for Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Young Jeezy, David Banner, Twista and the Ying Yang Twins, who had a smash single with the Mr. Collipark-produced single "Wait (The Whisper Song.)"

    Wyclef Jean and Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis are is also enjoying world wide chart success as producers of Shakira's worldwide chart hit "Hips Don't Lie," which also features Jean's vocals.

    The song has hit #1 in 14 countries, including the United States.

    In addition to the new Ying Yang Twins album, Mr. Collipark said he was working on new projects with Ciara as well as the Kadalack Boyz and Homebwoi, artists who are signed to Asylum/Warner Music Group.

    “Believe it or not the music that we’re doing right now is the popular music," "I’m not really interested in working with any outside acts right now. I have my deal with Interscope, Ying Yang and my deal at Asylum – so I have my own ring.”
