  • Judge Lets Rap-A-Lot Mogul Off The Hook In Suge Knight Deposition

Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J.Prince will not be required to provide information about his relationship with Marion "Suge" Knight in the Knight vs. Michael "Harry-O" Harris case thanks to a recent ruling by a California judge.

In April, Prince was subpoenaed by Steve Goldberg, lawyer for the currently imprisoned Michael "Harry-O" Harris. Prince, who also owns Prince Boxing and manages "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather, was served the subpoena while sitting next to Suge Knight at the April 8th IBF Welterweight Championship bout between Mayweather and Zab Judah.

"They have a relationship, they were sitting side by side at the Mayweather Fight, and we believe that Mr. Prince may owe Mr. Harris a substantial amount of money," Goldberg has been quoted as saying. "I look forward to getting into the nitty-gritty of the financial dealings between Mr. Prince and Mr. Knight. I plan to leave no stone unturned."

Michael Harris and his wife Lydia, previously won a $107 million default court judgment against Suge Knight after claiming they helped fund Death Row Records. Knight has so far avoided paying the Harris judgment because he filed for bankruptcy in April. Goldberg subpoenaed Prince in order to determine his financial relationship to Knight.

Despite being subpoenaed Prince would not answer questions about any financial dealings with Suge Knight. Eventually a lawyer for J.Prince successfully challenged the legality of Prince's deposition regarding Knight and Death Row. The judge hearing the Knight vs. Harris case has since ruled that all questions regarding J.Prince and Suge Knight be thrown out.

Since the ruling Prince has been quoted saying, "Harris is a pathological lying snitch," before adding that he was "pleased with the judge's decision on the court ruling."

A representative for Rap-A-Lot Records reached earlier this morning declined to comment.
