  • Jay-Z Partners With Anheuser-Busch, Takes On New Executive Role

After already embarking on several successful business ventures to date, hip-hop renaissance man Jay-Z has recently partnered with beer giant Anheuser-Bush to become co- brand director of its subsidiary brand, Budweiser Select.

The newly formed union is the first time that Anheuser-Busch has signed a celebrity to actively participate in the development of one of its beer brands. With his new executive position, Jigga will participate in Budweiser Select planning sessions and collaborate with the company on strategic marketing programs and creative ad development. Jay will also be involved in providing direction on other upcoming Budweiser Select television ads, radio spots, print campaign and several high- profile events.

"Collaborating with Jay-Z on marketing our Budweiser Select brand presents an opportunity to work with one of the world's great entrepreneurs and draws upon his expertise with pop culture, music and business," said Marlene Coulis, vice president of Brand Management of Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "His approach to reaching people in creative, groundbreaking ways that transcend cultural boundaries makes this alliance particularly exciting."

In addition to his traditional duties as co-brand director, the Brooklyn-bred MC is also utilizing the relationship to promote his highly anticipated comeback disc, Kingdom Come.

A series of 60-second Budweiser Select television spots have already began running, prominently featuring clips of Jay's new video for "Show Me What You Got". The commercial, which features portions of the video showing Jay alongside Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Danica Patrick, also include a plug for the Def Jam CEO's album which appears as "Jay-Z is back, coming Nov. 21," across the screen at the end of the commercial. The first of the spots ran during ESPN's "Monday Night Football" and another is scheduled to air during FOX's coverage of the MLB National League Championship Series.
