After making his mark in the world of R&B, platinum-selling artist Tyrese is now preparing to display his MC skills with the release of his new double CD, Alter Ego.
The double disc, which is slated for a December 5 release on J Records, will feature one disc of the artist singing and the other of him rapping as Black Ty.
The R&B disc will see Tyrese teaming up with a bevy of producers including Lil Jon and R. Kelly, while production on the rap disc will be handled by Mannie Fresh, Scott Storch and All Star, among others. Black Ty will also be looking to show fans that he can hold his own in the hip-hop arena, sharing mic time with seasoned rhymes sayers like The Game, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Too Short, David Banner, Method Man and Lil' Scrappy.
Tyrese, who can currently be heard lending vocals to Chingy's hit single "Pulling Me Back" is reportedly anxious to show fans another side to his talents. And while the jump to MC status as Black Ty may seem like a stretch to some, the Watts-bred artist only sees it as a natural progression, as he was once a member of the rap group Triple Impact prior to the success of his solo singing career.
In related news, Tyrese is also hitting the road in support of his new project. The Baby Boy star recently embarked on a 14-city promo tour which began on October 26 in Lincoln, NE.
