According to the Associated Press, after being arrested last year, felony gun possession charges against G-Unit's Lloyd Banks and Young Buck were dropped yesterday (November 8).
In August of last year both Banks (born Chris Lloyde) and Buck (born Darnell Brown) were riding in a van with several other men when it ran a red light in midtown Manhattan. Officers said they discovered a loaded handgun and another weapon in the van. The two had just finished performing at MadisonSquareGarden on the "Anger Management 3" tour, which featured headliners Eminem and 50 Cent.
"This whole experience reminds me of the title of my new album, Rotten Apple," said Banks in a statement. Prosecutors asked a judge to dismiss the charges after an investigation determined the neither Banks nor Buck had possessed the guns, said Barbara Thompson, spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau. Thompson said one suspect has pleaded guilty in the case while another remains under indictment.
