  • Tech N9ne Reemerges On Independent Rap Scene With New Album

Fans awaiting a new album from rapper TechN9ne can rest easy. The Kansas City lyricist has officially returned to the independent rap scene with the release of Everready, his first studio album in four years.

Among the tracks featured on the disc, which is currently in stores, are "Jellysickle" and "Bout Ta' Bubble," two popular selections on TechN9ne's MySpace page.

The Rick Rock-produced "Jellysickle" features E-40 and has appeared on several mixtapes while generating more than 1 million listens on MySpace.

"Bout Ta' Bubble," the lead single from Everready, follows "Jellysickle" with more than 500,000 plays in one month.

Another highlight off the album is "The Rain," which offers an intimate look into a rapper's life on the road away from his family.

Everready is the follow up to 2001's Anghellic and 2002's Absolute Power. The double disc album features cameos from E-40 and Brotha Lynch Hung, as well as production from Rock and the Legendary Traxter.

"This is Anghellic, Absolute Power combined," Tech N9ne said of the album's content. "It has the personal stuff Anghellic had or the party stuff that Absolute Power had. I think this is my best work."

Everready is the first release to emerge from a recent venture between Tech N9ne's Strange Music company and Fontana, a Universal Music Group subsidiary.

The lyricist, who has sold more than 500,000 units independently, co-owns the company with music executive Travis O'Guin.

Tech N9ne is currently on tour with DMX and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on select dates while headlining other stops. For tour dates, visit www.therealtechn9ne.com/.
