  • Woman Sues Lil Wayne Over Injuries Caused During Tennessee Concert

A Kentucky woman is suing both Tennessee State University and Lil Wayne for being responsible of an injury she suffered last year during a concert.

According to the Tennessean.com, Candice Smith is suing both parties for $150,000 in damages in a lawsuit filed last week in Davidson County Circuit Court, claiming she was knocked down by a surge of fans almost as soon as Lil Wayne hit the stage at Gentry Center.

The woman alleges that the rapper cause the surge when he threw money into the crowd, resulting in a stampede of fans rushing to get the floating cash during a March 2006 show at the university.

Smith suffered a broken collarbone in the incident, as well as other injuries, which caused her to miss a substantial amount of time from work and school, the suit claims.

"[Lil Wayne] knew or should have known that throwing money into the crowd would result in a rush of fans towards the stage, which could cause fans to be injured," the suit reads.

Both Lil Wayne and the university were not immediately available for comment at press time.
