  • Months After Fabolous Shooting, More Trouble For The Celtics' Sebastion Telfair

Boston Celtics guard Sebastian Telfair was arrested and charged in New York on Friday (April 20) for driving with a suspended license and possession of a firearm.

According to the New York Post, Telfair was initially stopped by authorities for allegedly speeding on a Yonkers highway and when they searched his vehicle they found a 45-caliber handgun under the driver's seat.

Telfair and his passenger, Al Eden Fuentes, both refused to claim ownership to the gun and were taken into custody. Both men were released on bail Friday night after pleading innocent to the possession charge.

"This gun was found under the seat; it was not found on him," said Telfair's lawyer Edward Hayes. "He has no [criminal] record whatsoever."

Prosecutor Mark Garretto revealed that Telfair's driver's license has been suspended twice before and he has failed to appear in court 12 times for various reasons.

The Brooklyn bred baller is no stranger to controversy. In February 2006, he was caught trying to bring a loaded gun onto a plane and claimed it belonged to his girlfriend. The charges were later dismissed.

In October, he was connected to Fabolous' shooting outside Justin's, Sean 'Diddy' Combs' restaurant in Manhattan. Investigators claimed that someone affiliated with Fabolous stole Telfair's $50,000 chain outside the restaurant and the hoop-star's crew responded by shooting the rapper when he left the eatery.

Telfair would deny having anything to do with Fabolous shooting. Fab would also refute claims of his crew robbing Telfair and would hire private investigators to obtain more details surrounding his shooting and Telfair's burglary.
