Various artists from the Hip-Hop community will host a concert today, May 16 in Philadelphia in support of Mumia Abu-Jamal and other political prisoners.
Concert performers will include Immortal Technique, Broadcast Live, Taina Asili, Maimouna Youssef, and Just Greg.
The concert takes place the day before the rally for Mumia Abu-Jamal, which takes place on May 17, when the Third Circuit for the U.S. Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments from Mumia and will decide if he will be given a new trial or given the death penalty once and for all.
The concert will take place at The Rotunda in Philadelphia at 8:30 p.m. and more information can be found at www.freemumia.com.
Mumia Abu-Jamal is a journalist and political activist who has been on Death Row since 1982 for the alleged murder of Philadelphia Police Department officer Daniel Faulkner.
