  • The Game Rejects Plea Deal In Police Impersonation Case

The Game has rejected a plea deal in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of impersonating a police officer earlier today (June 13).

According to Game's lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, the rapper's case would have been dismissed if he pled guilty, and he'd be given credit for the few hours he spent being booked.

"Why should he plead guilty to bogus charges for a non-jail sentence if he's innocent," Lichtman shared outside the courtroom. "And he is innocent. It's rare that I have a 100 percent innocent defendant, but this is one."

Game was arrested for allegedly impersonating an undercover police officer in New York back on November 16. According to New York's WNBC-TV, around 10:30 p.m. Game (born Jayceon Taylor) waived down a Lincoln Town Car at 56th Street and 7th Avenue. Muhammed Butt, the driver of the taxi, said that Game claimed to be an undercover cop and told him to race through several traffic lights on Lexington Avenue, police said. Cops pulled Butt over after he drove 13 blocks.

Lichtman thinks the police reached a "new low" with Game's arrest and maintains his client is being harassed. "This case will end in a dismissal or an acquittal," Litchtman charged. Game is due back in court on September 20.
